I joined Cooking Queens because I wanted to learn how to joyfully cook nutritious meals for me and my husband. I did not grow up cooking. My mom and my sister did all of the cooking. When I got married my husband did chef style cooking. I love having the support and encouragement from each other and get motivated by watching the progress each member makes. Cooking with Dr. Lauren has simplified the mystery of cooking. Having Dr. Lauren guide us as she demonstrates the cooking technique ensures the process goes smoothly and our final dish is delicious. My favorite recipe is the acorn squash. It was simple to make and so delicious. The extra filling was put over pasta the next day and was super delicious. This recipe will be added to the family Thanksgiving menu next year.
My name is Dr. Lauren.
I’m a board certified family medicine physician, also known as The Culinary Doctor. I believe that food is the most powerful drug in the world. My mission is to teach people how to use food as medicine in order to prevent, manage, cure disease. 

 My life’s work entails breaking generational patterns of food related diseases in the African American community. I believe that good health and wellness should be accessible to all. My goal is that this membership elevated you into the direction of better health.
